Parndon Wood, Harlow, Essex
SOLD AND GIFT Acrylic on canvas 20"x18" I love this setting in Harlow, Essex and the beauty of these woodlands. I actually painted this place twice. The first one was a gift and the second was the result of someone wanting to buy the first one after I gave it away.
Market day with Mum
PERSONAL COLLECTION Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" I have painted my mum a fair few times and I wanted to capture her in our home town. I have purposely tried to abbreviate the detail in order create a different feel to my painting style.
Springtime at Cadmore Lane.
GIFT FOR CHARITY Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" Location: Lee Valley Park, Chesunt, Herfordshire. I was completely struck by the beauty of this scene. I especially like springtime and daffodils that celebrate it's coming and the finer weather which is on the way.
GIFT Acrylic on canvas 20"x16" Location: Loughton, Essex, England. I actually go to this great church and some other members commissioned me to paint this picture from a photo. They have since changed churches and I suggested buying the painting back and donating it to the church. It now proudly adorns their building.
Inside Waltham Abbey Church.
SOLD Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" Location: Waltham Abbey, Essex, England. I was privileged to be allowed to paint this on location and aimed to finish it in one session of 4 hours. There was a lot of visual information which I had to abbreviate and whilst walking down Sun Street in Waltham Abbey with the painting in hand an aquaintence of mine was bowled over by it and agreed to buy it before I even got home.
FOXGLOVES - PARNDON WOOD
SOLD Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" Location: Harlow, Essex, Engand I was struck by the iridescence and beauty of these flowers contrasted against their woodland backdrop and hence captured them in paint. This day there just so happened to be a painting class here also in which the tutor remarked on my paintings hypnotic qualities.
The "Fish & Eels" Public house
SOLD Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" Location: Dobbs Weir, Hertforshire, England. This quaint English pub by a canal in the countryside felt like a good local seen to paint. It wasn't long before it sold, the lady who bought it said it reminded her of her dad who lived near here.
GIFT Acrylic on canvas 30"x24 Location: Theobalds Grove, Hertfordshire, England. I reckoned on on this as being a good scene that spoke of relaxation in the sun by a pond. I love the sharp contrasting shadow from the tree.
SOLD Acrylic on canvas 30"x24" This lovely old dog as since passed on. My customers loved this painting.
PERSONAL COLLECTION My friend Joan has these beautiful giant daises in her back garden. They were yearning to be painted.
PERSONAL COLLECTION Acrylic on canvas 14"x12" This was done entirely from the imagination with no reference and a complete experiment. I tried to get the feeling of an air conditioned cool supermarket while it was hot outside. I didn't know if I liked it at first but it has grown on me over the years.
Waltham Abbey Rose Gardens
PERSONAL COLLECTION Acrylic on canvas 24"x20" Location: Waltham Abbey. Essex. Although this is just a localised view of the gardens I believe they are so beautiful and I want to do and expanded view in the future. I love the love the lavender backdrop.
